IMPORTANT POINTS DISCUSSED IN THE MEETING OF THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL (JULY 30, 2011)
1. Evaluation of the Healing Mass of Fr. Suarez
- The activity was peaceful and orderly in general.
- All the committees were able to perform their task well.
- There were a lot of donations: food, chairs, tents, portalets and funds.
- There were some confusion during the healing activity in the Church.
- The sound system outside the Church was weak and inaudible.
- Fr. Suarez and his group were satisfied and fulfilled.
2. Gannt Chart revisited
- The Gannt Chart is the parish instrument to monitor the activities of the ministries.
- While many ministries already submitted their program of activities, there is still a need for some ministries to plan their programs.
- Officers of the PPC were assigned to follow up the programs of the ministries.
3. Formation of the Fiesta Committee
- Persons were proposed to be invited to be members of the Committee.
- The Fiesta Committee will have to plan the activities and events of the fiesta and they could compose sub-committees to organize the activities.
- One project expected from the Fiesta committee is the Souvenir or Coffee table book to commemorate the 10th year of the parish.
4. Schedule of activities of the image of the Black Nazarene of Quiapo
- (the details are on a separate news item)
5. Talk of Fr. Dennis on Marriage and Family Life
- The last talk of Fr. Dennis about couple relationship was very much appreciated. He spoke about the needs of husbands and wives and if these needs could be responded to by the couple, there will be an enrichment of love relationship.
- The parish hall was full house of about 90+ participants in his last talk.
- His next talk is scheduled on October 1 and then on November 5. He will forward to us later the title of his conference.
6. The visit of Our Lady of Penafrancia
- Every year, the parish welcomes the image of Our Lady of Manaoag. This year however, due to the re-organization of the group of Manaoag, they have temporarily suspended the visit of the image to the parishes.
- There is however, a possibility of inviting the image of Our Lady of Penafrancia of Bicol. We have started communicating with the priest in-charge of the image and we hope to have Our Lady’s statue the first week of October.
7. The mass wedding sponsored by CFC
- There were about 20+ couples who are preparing themselves for the mass wedding. Some of them were baptized and confirmed by the parish priest last July 23rd in the Church.
- The plan is to conduct the mass wedding on the occasion of the birthday of the parish priest on September 25. The parish priest is happy to have a joint celebration of his birthday with the wedding banquet of these couples who longed to have their companionship blessed by God in the Church.
8. The Center for Young Workers
- It has been the dream of all the priests assigned in the parish to have a Center for Young Workers. It is a fact that the Salesian Fathers accepted the Church in Technopark in view of evangelizing the workers employed in the different companies.
- A feasibility study will be done to start dreaming about this project. The parishioners will be invited to participate in conceptualizing how this dream can be brought to a reality.
- Professionals will be invited to give their ideas on how to start this project and the possibility of a venue where this project could be located.
